Delete your Word & Witness account

You can permanently delete your account in the mobile app or request deletion from Word & Witness LLC here without installing or signing in to the app.

Delete inside the app

1. Open your Profile and select Settings.
2. Select Delete Account.
3. Enter your password and confirm the deletion.

Request deletion without the app

Email support@wordandwitness.app from the address associated with your account. Use the subject “Word & Witness account deletion request” and include your username. Never send your password. We may ask for limited information needed to verify that you control the account before completing the request.

Delete some data without deleting your account

The mobile app lets you permanently remove individual profile photos, thoughts, scripture notes and highlights, saved scripture, and collections while keeping your account. Open the item or its settings menu and select its delete or remove option.

If you cannot use the app, email support@wordandwitness.app from the address associated with your account. Use the subject “Word & Witness data deletion request,” include your username, and describe the data you want removed. Never send your password. We may ask for limited information needed to verify that you control the account before completing the request.

What deletion removes

Deletion removes your profile, study library, collections, reading activity, notes, highlights, thoughts, replies, messages, follows, reports, and managed uploads from the active service.

Limited retention

Limited backup copies may remain until routine backup rotation finishes. We may retain narrowly scoped records when required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or abuse-enforcement reasons. If a suspended account is deleted, keyed pseudonymous fingerprints of its normalized email address and username may be retained so the enforced identity cannot immediately recreate the account. These fingerprints do not contain the plaintext email, username, or deleted user ID.
